Bullish Nancy shows no fear of the sack but the Parkhead faithful show wrath following defeat.
The under-pressure manager stated he had no concerns about the sack, asserting, “The team is really close to changing our fortunes,” even after moving dangerously close to being fired with a comprehensive setback against Rangers.

Celtic were ahead Rangers at half-time but a collapse after the break enabled Rangers to move level on points with the defending Scottish Premiership champions. The former MLS manager, who was appointed in December, has now presided over six losses in his last eight games.

Protest Erupts

“It’s the results [that leads to pressure]. So this is the reality for the moment. But in stating that’s how it is, it doesn’t mean that I am a defeatist guy. Absolutely not. The message is we are on the cusp, imminently close to reverse our form.”
Nancy’s Persistent Belief
The coach continues to cling to the fact Celtic play well for a half at a time. Indeed, were it not for poor finishing they might have been greater than 1-0 up. “I saw enough except the fact that we missed our chances,” he said. “I know that we lost, but I must remain objective.
“The level we had at stages was really, really, really high. That happened. And I would not say that if it was different. That is the reason, in terms of results, I mentioned it's a repeating pattern. That’s why I said that a change is coming to things turning around. But for the moment: details, details, details.”
“We produced plenty of positives that we did, like today again. But now comes down to consistency. My narrative would change if it was not the case. Therefore I am a big believer we will manage to get back on track.”
Opposition Reaction Outlook
Danny Röhl refused to contemplate a serious challenge in spite of what felt like a statement victory. “One match at a time, so we can gradually build something here,” he said. “The confidence in the group is immense.”
