Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's home form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
