An individual of Australian nationality who vaulted across a fence and touched celebrity Ariana Grande has been expelled and banned from Singapore.

The individual, 26, was sentenced to more than a week in prison for causing a public disturbance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," Singaporean immigration authorities stated to news outlets.

He forced his way past photographers and approached aggressively the actress and singer, who was attending the regional launch for the film on November 13. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and high-profile gatherings, including jumping on stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in this summer.

The incident provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with numerous people claiming he of causing further distress to the star.

The singer has mentioned dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist bombing at her concert in Manchester in May 2017 killed over twenty people and hurt numerous attendees.

During Wen's trial, the authorities learned he had made efforts to breach on the red carpet event twice, according to regional reports.

He then made a follow-up try to jump the barricades. Security staff prevented him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted videos thanking Grande for allowing his presence and said he was "at liberty."

Authorities took him into custody the following day and accused him with causing a disturbance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Presiding Judge Christopher Goh was referenced by media reports as saying that Wen was "attention seeking", noting that he was incorrect to think he would not suffer any consequences.

The singer has not commented on the incident.

Cynthia Erivo spoke about the situation to a media outlet, remarking that she "only aimed to ensure my co-star was safe."

"I believe he didn't mean us harm, but you never know with those things, and I wanted to ensure that she was OK. That was my immediate response," she stated.
