Iran Claims Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a significant and continuing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the United States has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
