Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who appeared in iconic television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
