Nearly 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the state, generating strong winds reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Homeowners observed giant hailstones as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing power throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams working to address the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, around 1,000 households in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the capital city experienced its wettest day in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both regions.

Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
